Beetle

The Volkswagen Beetle, produced from 1938-2003 (original Type 1) and 1997-2019 (modern versions), is a global automotive icon. Its distinctive design, robust engineering, and remarkable longevity made it the world's best-selling single-platform car.

Original Type 1 "Beetle": 1938-2003 (Continuous evolution over 65 years, with significant updates in the 'Super Beetle' 1302/1303 models from 1971-1975). Production continued in Mexico until 2003. New Beetle (A4 Platform): 1997-2011 (Retro-styled, front-engine, water-cooled, based on the Golf platform). The Beetle (A5 Platform): 2011-2019 (More aggressively styled, closer to the original proportions, also front-engine/water-cooled).
