DS-21

The Citroën DS-21, produced from 1965-1975, was a high-performance version of the iconic DS. It was known for its powerful engine, unique directional headlights, and advanced suspension, making it a true luxury car.

The DS-21 is not a distinct generation but a specific model variant of the single-generation Citroën DS, with its own series of updates: DS-21: 1965-1972 (Initial model with the 2.1L engine, offered alongside the DS-19). DS-21 with electronic fuel injection: 1969-1972 (A more powerful, fuel-injected version was introduced, offering a significant performance boost). Final DS-21/DS-23: 1973-1975 (The DS-21 was replaced by the DS-23, which had a slightly larger 2.3L engine).

Mehari

The Citroen Mehari, produced from 1968 to 1988, was a lightweight off-road utility vehicle featuring a rust-proof ABS plastic body and reliable 2CV-based mechanical components.

The Citroen Mehari was produced in a single long-running generation with several technical evolutions and localized versions. The original front-wheel-drive model launched in 1968 and remained the core of production until 1988, undergoing a notable facelift in 1978 that introduced a new front grille and updated dashboard. Between 1979 and 1983, a rare 4x4 variant was produced featuring a specialized four-wheel-drive system and a rear-mounted spare wheel. Globally, the Mehari saw diverse assembly, including production in Argentina (1971–1986) as the Mehari II and in Chile as the FAF Yagan (1972–1974). A brief US-export version existed from 1969 to 1970, categorized as a truck to bypass safety regulations. Decades later, Citroen revived the spirit of the original with the E-Mehari, an all-electric open-air convertible produced in collaboration with Bollore between 2016 and 2019.
