Simca (Société Industrielle de Mécanique et Carrosserie Automobile) was a major French automaker founded in 1934, initially building licensed Fiat models. It gained popularity postwar with original designs like the Aronde and 1100. Acquired by Chrysler in 1958, the Simca name was eventually phased out by PSA Peugeot Citroën in the late 1970s.
