Founded by Adam Opel in 1862, the company initially manufactured sewing machines before entering the automotive industry in 1899. Becoming part of General Motors in 1929, Opel produced a wide range of popular cars for the European market. In 2017, Opel was acquired by PSA Group (now Stellantis), marking a new chapter for the German brand.

Astra

The Opel Astra, launched in 1991, is a popular compact car known for its practicality, safety innovations, and diverse body styles. It continues Opel's long legacy in the C-segment.

Astra F: 1991-1997. Astra G: 1998-2004. Astra H: 2004-2009 (production continued in some markets until 2010). Astra J: 2009-2015. Astra K: 2015-2021. Astra L: 2021-Present.

Commodore

The Opel Commodore, produced from 1967-1982, was a stylish executive car. It was known as the six-cylinder version of the Opel Rekord and was a precursor to the legendary Australian-built Holden Commodore.

Commodore A: 1967-1971. Commodore B: 1972-1977. Commodore C: 1978-1982 (In some markets like South Africa, production extended until 1986). (In the UK, this generation was sold as the Vauxhall Viceroy). (This C-generation platform was the basis for the first Holden Commodore, which was a separate and highly-modified car built from 1978-2020 in Australia).
