Chevette

The Vauxhall Chevette, produced from 1975-1984, was a popular British supermini. As Vauxhall's version of GM's "T-Car," it offered various body styles and was known for its lively handling and success in rallying.

While the "T-Car" platform was global, the Vauxhall Chevette is generally considered a single generation that received updates and different body styles: Vauxhall Chevette: 1975-1984. Initial Hatchback Launch: May 1975. Saloon (2 & 4-door) and Estate versions: Introduced in 1976. Chevette HS (Rally Homologation): 1978 (High-performance variant). Facelift: 1979 (New flush-fitting headlights, minor styling changes). Chevette HSR: 1979 (Evolution of the HS for rallying). Minor updates/Special Editions: Throughout its production, including the Black Pearl and Silhouette. Note: The Chevette was part of GM's global "T-Car" platform, which spawned many different models worldwide, including the Opel Kadett C, Chevrolet Chevette (Brazil, USA), Isuzu Gemini, and Holden Gemini. Each had unique styling and local adaptations, but shared common underpinnings.
