The Camaro has evolved through six distinct generations, surviving the fuel crises of the 1970s and returning from an eight-year hiatus to become a modern track weapon. First Generation: 1967–1969. Models: Sport Coupe and Convertible. Key Variants: RS, SS, and the race-ready Z/28. econd Generation: 1970–1981. Models: Coupe only (No factory convertible offered). Key Variants: Z28, Type LT, and Berlinetta. Note: Often split into early (1970–1973) and late (1974–1981) due to bumper changes. Third Generation: 1982–1992.
