VolumeX An unrivalled ear that combines the uniqueness of a sports saloon with the uniqueness of the Volumex, the one and only positive-displace-ment compressor series-produc-tion car. A pacesetting solution added to advanced technology. The 1983 HP Executive is also fitted with hydraulic steering, Lancia's special power-assisted steering system that makes parking so easy and lets the driver really feel the road through the steering wheel at high speed.
2000 LE A car in which electronics engineering is wedded to automobile engineering. Bosch L-Jetronie electronie injection. Marelli Digi-plex static electronic ignition, the most advanced system on the mar-ket, with computerised spark advance from a bank of over 500 optimal running conditions. Electronic cut-off device shuts off the fuel flow when the foot is taken off the accelerator. Fuel savings of up to 10% are possible from the combination of the Digiplex and a new final drive ratio. Power steering is also fitted to this model.
1600 All the advantages of a Lancia sports saloon plus all the benefits of low capacity. Very lively, front-mounted transverse engine with twin overhead camshaft. Lancia's superbly balanced front-wheel drive. Lancia 5-speed gearbox. dises with Superduplex control, vacuum servo, brake effort proportioning valve acting on the rear wheels, and second, fully separate front-braking circuit. Independent MacPherson struts on all four wheels. The most sportslike 1600 family car.

The H.P.Executive uses a technology that only Lancia can offer, namely the Volumex positive displacement compressor. This exclusive supercharging system enhances the already exceptional specifications of the transversely mounted, twin overhead camshaft Lancia 2000 engine.
The Volumex is located between the carburettor and the cylinders. Two rotors turning inside a fig-ure-of-eight housing are directly driven by the crankshaft. The air-fuel mixture from the carburettor is compressed by the rotors and forced into the cylinders at high-er-than-atmospheric pressure.
This supercharging effect makes itself apparent even at low engine speeds. Torque is already way up at 17.9 mkg at only 1400 rpm and rises to 21 mkg at 3000 rpm, giving the H.P.Executive Volumex a truly exceptional degree of flexible, smooth running. Fantastic pickup in high gears, and smooth handling that has the sports-car touch, but is never taken to extremes over mixed routes, and even in city traffic. The versatile Volumex can be a source of sheer power, too. Just get busy with the gearbox and press down the accel-erator. 135 bhp; 200 km/h; 0-100 km/h in an amazing 9.4 sec; standing kilometre in 30.5 sec. Performance way up at the top of the bracket. It's no accident that the Volumex is making a name for itself in the racing world. The Lancia Rally with the Volumex positive-displacement compressor is continuing to chalk up victories in the World, European and Italian Rally Championship.
The H.P.Executive Volumex is the latest development of a Lancia ex-clusive: the sports saloon.
The sports car side can be seen in the vehicle's lines, low centre of gravity, sports steering layout, in-strumentation, and performance figures. And in its technology: front-wheel drive, transversely mounted engine, five-speed gear-box, Superduplex braking system with four disc brakes, independent suspension on all four wheels.
Yet this is also a real five-seater saloon, an original, ideal family car. Ample luggage space that can be increased in stages up to 1200 cu/dm by tilting forward half or all the back seat. Easy loading and un-loading, too, through the large, convenient hatch.
A saloon, and a Lancia saloon at that. The refined interior with its exclusive trim leaves no doubt on this score: handcrafted leather for the steering wheel, and wool fabric upholstery for the seats and door panels designed exclusively by Ermenegildo Zegna.
