All four wheels grip the ground. Calmly, effortlessly, in low first gear and driven by strong torque available at very low engine speeds, the Jeeps go through! Capable of overcoming the toughest obstacles, they fear nothing.

On the Jeep CJ7 Standard, the dashboard is fitted with a sturdy passenger grab handle, the
glove compartment is lockable, and the oil-pressure gauge and temperature gauge are clearly visible.
The windshield can be folded down, and the carpeting is removable at both the front and rear — as
are the doors, which can be easily taken off.
The Jeep CJ7 Laredo, meanwhile, takes refinement even further and adds many extra dimensions
to the off-road abilities of the CJ7 Standard: chrome grille and wheels, a dashboard with padded
trim, limited-slip differential, free-wheeling hubs, and 235/70 HR 15 tires. On the petrol version,
it also includes a clock and tachometer — as well as power steering. True American-style
comfort.
The combination of Jeep technology with Renault engines — a 2,068 cc diesel or a 1,995 cc petrol
unit — is an undeniable success. The Jeep CJ7 Standard and Laredo are remarkably capable and
economical. With the more powerful petrol engine (85 DIN hp and 144 Nm ISO at 2,750 rpm), fuel
consumption is just 10.3 liters at 90 km/h.
Incredibly rugged, copied all over the world but never equaled, the Jeep is far more than a symbol
of freedom — it is the off-road benchmark.
The effectiveness of the Jeep’s transmission system is the result of exceptional experience gained on
every type of terrain around the world.
The gearbox drives a transfer case with a reduction gear, providing five high-range gears and five
low-range gears for the toughest obstacles (in low-range first gear, speed is just 2.7 km/h at an
engine speed of 1,000 rpm!).
Depending on terrain conditions, a selector lever allows you to choose 4x2 (two-wheel rear drive) or
4x4. In addition, the Jeep Laredo is equipped with manual front-wheel disengagement. This means that
when the vehicle is used in 4x2 mode on the road, the front wheels are disconnected from the
driveshaft and front differential.
As a result, rolling noise, friction losses, and fuel consumption are significantly reduced.
