Our experience in four-wheel-drive technology is reflected in the Jeep Cherokee through two different 4WD systems. The Command-Trac system of the 2.5-liter turbodiesel – paired with a 5-speed manual transmission – allows you to switch between rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive on loose surfaces, even while driving.
The Selec-Trac system of the Jeep Cherokee 4.0 with automatic transmission, on the other hand, can be driven permanently in four-wheel-drive mode and also allows you to disengage the front drive axle.
The 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine produces 85 kW (115 hp). It reaches its maximum torque of 278 Nm as early as 1,800 rpm.
