Listening to 5.7 litres of high output Generation III V8 engine – now massaged to a mighty 260kW* and 500Nm*– as it burbles through a true dual exhaust system, is a purist’s earful. With its ground-hugging stance the new Monaro is as savage as it is sophisticated.

The ground-pounding, awe-inspiring high output Generation III V8 makes sure of that. Brutal beauty is its forte, especially now that it has 260kW* of power and 500Nm* of torque ready to unleash. Underneath those new two-piece engine covers lurk a revised camshaft to create effortless sports performance. A new dual exhaust system speaks volumes about your intention.

Launch capability has also been enhanced, making the new Monaro a genuine starter off the mark. You have the choice of two superb transmissions. The optional heavy duty four speed auto, with revised internals including the torque converter and shorter final drive ratio. Or the short ratio six speed manual comes standard.

Performance Brakes Larger ventilated rotors dissipate more heat under hard braking. Upgraded calipers up front yield enhanced pedal feel.

Anti-Lock Braking System Sensors adjust brake pressure in rapid pulses for improved vehicle stability, steer ability and stopping distances in all conditions.

Brake Assist Brake Assist provides additional braking assistance by allowing the driver to reach the ABS threshold sooner and therefore help reduce stopping distances.

Electronic Brakeforce Distribution Electronic Brakeforce Distribution regulates the force between the front and rear brakes to give the new Monaro improved braking balance.
