The Feroza engine is a 16-valve system with two intake and exhaust valves per cylinder. The high 70 kW output is made possible by an innovative cross-flow layout and pent-roof combustion chambers. The result is an engine that's truly in a class of its own. With plenty of torque over the entire rpm range, Feroza provides superb traction and is easy to handle despite whatever dips and bumps offroad terrain might present. The single-cam, 16-valve engine delivers power comparable to that of a twin cam engine while minimizing the size of the cylinder heads. The engine is all the more lightweight thanks to its aluminium diecast cylinder bloek. The superior response of the 16-valve engine is also ideal for both city and highway driving. No other car offers quite the power and handling of Feroza.
Electronic Fuel Injection (Hl)
EFI delivers precisely the optimum amount of fuel to the cylinders for each driving condition. The resulting efficiency dramatically lowers fuel costs while maximizing engine output. The superiority of EFIfeature provides Feroza with a stabie, high torque throughout the entire 2,000-5,000 rpm range.
Transmission and Transfer Centre- Through 4X4 System
The 5-speed manual transmission and centrethrough high/low transfer system are a delight to operate. To switch back and forth between 4 and 2 wheel drive, simply shift the transfer lever. When 4WD is selected, a chain in the transfer delivers the engine's powerful torque to the front wheels. When 2WD is selected, the chain is freed and the torque is delivered from the transmission to the rear wheels. Noise and mechanicalloss are significantly reduced for a super-quiet, super-economical performance.
Manual Select Free Wheel Hub (Option)
When the front wheel axle shaft is released for 2 WD, the front wheels rotate with complete freedom. This eliminates running resistance, maximizes fuel efficiency, and dramatically reduces noise.
The double wishbone independent front suspension ensures stabie, comfortable driving as weil as superb directional stability and cornering. Feroza responds immediately to every possible change in terrain, all the while providing a superior roadhugging performance. Even the worst roads are negotiated with ease.
Keeping the rear end of the Feroza at a constant height from the road's surface is a rigid leaf spring suspension.
The unique combination of suspension systems ensures stabie manoeuvrability in all possible conditions. On or off the road, Feroza is the leader of the pack.
Three-Stage Damper (Option)
The optional three-stage damping system allows you to effortlessly adjust the shock absorber damping level to best suit each driving condition. A touch of a switch on the instrument panel sets the damping effect at either hard for off-road, soft for city, or normal lor highway. Optimum comfort and handling are ensured at every possible moment.
Brake System
High-performance disc brakes in front and powerful, stabie drum brakes in the rear give the driver complete control at all times. A light louch on the brake pedal is transformed by the 8-inch braking booster and tandem master cylinders into tremendous braking power for maximum safety and handling.
