How wonderful it is that in this age of standardization and mass production, there are still things that carry the character of the unique. The signed first edition of a book. The original work of an Expressionist. The BMW 2000 Coupé.

The white-and-blue emblem on a car’s hood is a symbol: of sporty performance, of thoughtful comfort, and of high safety reserves. These qualities result from the BMW design principle — to use the best technical solution for every detail.
The car that is to stand as the flagship at the top of the BMW range must fulfill the expectations placed in a BMW in the most perfect way possible. And if it also shows that extra measure of love and care in its craftsmanship — the kind that can only be devoted to a special model produced in limited numbers — then the goal has been achieved.
The result: BMW 2000 Coupé.
A wealth of technically advanced, forward-looking details characterizes the engine of the BMW 2000 Coupé: Meticulously shaped combustion chambers with flow- and mixture-optimized spherical swirl design. Overhead camshaft with noise-damped drive. Bimetal valves arranged in a V-configuration. Five-bearing crankshaft, perfectly balanced with eight counterweights.
The engineering effort was worth it: An engine has been created that combines the performance of a sports car motor with outstanding smoothness and refinement.
The superbly tuned chassis can be guided with effortless precision. Even in fast corners, no steering correction is necessary. The car seems to compensate for minor driver errors almost automatically.
Both engine and chassis have been deliberately engineered for extremely high performance. As a result, in everyday driving only a fraction of their full potential is ever needed — while the rest remains available as a reserve of safety, ready whenever required.
Timeless, understated elegance defines the commanding presence of this automobile.
With the interior of the BMW Coupé, BMW’s stylists have created an elegant synthesis of luxury and practicality. The comfortably upholstered seats glide on rollers into the desired position. Not only the windshield, but also both side windows are connected to the defroster system. The windshield washer can be operated without taking your hands off the steering wheel. The rear side windows — and, on request, all four windows — can be electrically operated and locked in any position from the cockpit.
Everything has been provided to make driving truly worth experiencing.
The handcrafted wooden dashboard serves both as a storage shelf and as a handgrip for the front passenger.
Everything has been provided to make driving truly worth experiencing. Only in one respect must we present you with a choice: While the BMW 2000 CS, with its floor-mounted gearshift and higher engine output, is designed with a distinctly sporty character, the BMW 2000 C Automatic offers the comfort of effortless operation.
Only you can decide which is more agreeable and advantageous for your needs.
You will experience for yourself the fascination that radiates from a car which stands as the flagship of a famous marque: while driving through busy streets, when stopping at a service station, and especially when visiting a BMW service centre.
We do not know what you will like best about the BMW 2000 Coupé — its sporty performance, its refined driving characteristics, its understated elegance, its unusually spacious interior for a sports coupé (four true seats and a 450-litre luggage compartment), or the realization that you own this car…
